What are the Codes SAE/ RAE?

The codes RAE-SAE they serve to classify businesses in relation to the economic activity carried out and on the basis of instructions issued by the Bank of Italy (also in compliance with international regulations). I am, therefore, basically for use by banks that in communicating the data relating to their "customers" to the Bank of Italy, they must provide their identity with objective and uniform parameters with a view to mapping the economic risk on the territory. They should be obtained from the activity codes ATECO, but they are not the same.

RAE is a numerical encoding a 3 figures defined by the Bank of Italy (circular no. 140 of 11.02.91 of "Centrale dei Rischi") which intends to align itself with that Nace-Clio to standardize real accounting and financial accounting and be able to have a more significant representation of the production structure of our country. This coding uses the following starting data: - Ateco economic activity code - code SAE.

SAE
is a numerical encoding a 3 figures defined by the Bank of Italy (circular n.140 / 11.02.91 - first update 07.08.98 of "Centrale dei Rischi") which intends to follow the recommendations of * Eurostat * (European System of Accounts 1995) to standardize the compilation of national accounts from all countries of the world. This coding classifies companies by sector (therefore on the basis of the goods and services they produce) using the following starting data: - legal nature of the company - code of economic activity ATECO
- possible registration in the Artisans section of the Business Register - number of employees.
