2-3 Year Business Plan and Appropriate Assets: How to Develop Them
In the modern business management landscape, monitoring immediate solvency through the Cash Budget is just the starting point. For a truly comprehensive view, it's essential to integrate a broader tool: the 2-3 year Business Plan.
Without this medium-term perspective, Strategic Planning and Industrial Development remain without a solid numerical base, making the company vulnerable to market fluctuations that a monthly horizon alone cannot predict. We will then see how to construct this plan so that it is technically consistent with current cash flows, ensuring the right balance between operationality and vision.
Defuse the illusion of detail
A key aspect of our approach will be managing complexity. We'll learn to avoid the most common risk of perspective analysis: the optical illusion that a plan's accuracy increases with increasing detail. Often, the opposite is true: a plane that is too granular becomes rigid and fragile. The secret lies in identifying the few key drivers that really move the business, avoiding getting lost in micro-forecasts that only add noise and reduce the overall reliability of the document.
Indicators and Stress Tests: The Role of the DSCR
We'll then delve into quantitative analysis, learning how to interpret key indicators calculated on an annual basis. The central focus will be the Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), a parameter that is now essential not only for internal management but also for dialogue with credit institutions and for adapting to the organizational structures required by the Crisis Code.
We will use computerized methodologies to calculate the DSCR in the coming months and, above all, to "stress" forecasts. By simulating negative scenarios (what-if analysis), we will be able to understand in advance which factors could undermine the company's ability to repay debt, allowing governance to intervene promptly before the criticality becomes structural.
